Billboard Roundup: Bringing back the personality

For the first time in a while, this month’s roundup didn’t feel like the same billboard repeated twenty times.

There were simply…more of them. More brands investing in outdoor. More launches. More categories. More experimentation. It feels like companies are getting a little more confident again, and that’s showing up in the creative. We even threw in some fun, very non-AI boards just to mix it up this time around.

AI and agent talk still dominates the conversation (of course), but the execution is changing. Instead of relying solely on “AI-powered” messaging, more brands are leaning into humor, distinctive typography, illustration, and campaigns that actually feel designed.

A few standouts for us this month:

🏆 Airwallex – Possibly our favorite design system of the month. Confident typography, almost poster-like, with very little copy. It earns attention without shouting.

🏆 Judgment Labs – We’re only showing two billboards here but Judgment Labs wins the prize for being the most prolific — they’ve seemingly taken over the entire city with billboards everywhere you look. 

🏆 Canva – A great reminder that enterprise brands don’t always have to look “enterprise”. The campaign, which consisted of two boards that went up back-to-back to lure in readers and tell a fun story, feels imaginative, playful, and refreshing.
